LABOUR MARKET INTEGRATION OF A PERSON AT RISK OF SOCIAL EXCLUSION
Mensajeros de la Paz Comunidad Valenciana was born in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, to provide a solution to the great humanitarian and health emergency. It assists people in Valencia and Alicante derived from social services, homeless people, single mothers with dependent children, refugees and displaced people with extreme survival situations…, providing basic services of food, clothing and hygiene. It operates entirely thanks to the commitment of its volunteers.
They offer a ‘TAKE AWAY’ takeaway service, providing trays of prepared food for people who do not have the means to cook, providing them with a healthy and balanced diet that includes prepared main dishes, fruit, vegetables and dairy products. They are supported by Fundación Ayuda una familia for the supply of the prepared food. They also provide basic non-perishable foodstuffs and personal hygiene and household cleaning products. All of this is thanks to the collaboration of small traders, farmers, poultry farmers, supermarket chains, etc.
Thanks to the solidarity of their neighbours, they have a very complete wardrobe (shoes, clothes, blankets, sheets, towels, underwear, etc.) at the disposal of the needy.
They also offer a service aimed at covering the hygiene needs of homeless people in the city of Valencia: HigieneBus (equipped with a hot shower, a changing area for children and babies, and a hairdressing area with two chairs where hair is cut and beards are groomed).
The Susana Monsma Foundation collaborates in the hiring of a person at risk of social exclusion to work on the Take Away project for at least one year, thus facilitating their subsequent access to the world of work: the collection with a van of all the daily surpluses from the supermarkets with which they collaborate, will allow them to manage their project from the zero surplus initiative, committed to ensuring that no food is wasted in the city of Valencia, while allowing them to provide fresh and basic food to vulnerable families, thus managing to offer perishable products in time and date.
